A Great Country Music Spectacle – The Washboard Union and Friends.

The Washboard Union sold out the show, with 1000 raving, awesome and screaming fans. It was a great night at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on Thursday, November 29th. After a performance like that to end an already epic night, I can totally see why they were named the 2018 CCMA Group of the Year. It is obvious that The Washboard Union has built a loyal fan base over the years and it felt like they were all at The Commodore Ballroom that night..

As a country music fan from Eastern Canada, I always appreciate good music, and this was a perfect line-up that was filled with great music and great fun.

What a night it was with Calgary based “Nice Horse” kicking off the vibe and creating an amazing amount of energy and excitement in the room.. I’ve never seen them before, but they were more than a pleasant surprise and I am now a fan. you can find out more about them at:

The great energy ramped up with an incredible performance by yet another Alberta band, “Aaron Goodvin.” He won the 2018 CCMA award as Songwriter of the Year and did not disappoint with his amazing voice and vast array of fantastic songs. You can find out more about them at:

As the energy climbed and reached new levels with each performance, we all prepared ourselves for “The Washboard Union.” I took a seat in the corner of the room, enjoyed my beer, talked to a few others about the first two awesome groups, and eagerly anticipated what was next. It was very inspiring to hear people talking about what was soon to be the highlight of the night.

This incredible and unforgettable Live performance had me and the sold-out crowd on their feet the whole time.. You can say that they “knocked the Dougie and daisy dukes off of everyone! I didn’t last long in the corner and found myself dancing and singing loudly right alongside all the others.

The best thing about country music is the storytelling, and they did an epic job of that.. Ending the night with their first Gold record song, “Shot of Glory” with Nice Horse and Aaron Goodvin singing along, could not have been any more perfect. What an incredible song and incredible encore performance to end the concert.

The Washboard Union is an incredible talent in country music today and this Live performance was one of a kind.. I am now a BIG fan and look forward to hearing them again for sure.. learn more about them at:
